Sport is good. Being in shape makes you happy and it gives you confidence. You feel strong. But we all know that sometimes, it’s hard to stay motivated. Winter is coming and it’s one of the best excuse for everyone : it’s too cold, it’s too hot, it’s too late, I’m tired… etc.
I TRAIN AT LET’S GO FIT!
Lot of you guys ask me how I stay motivated to work out and to take care of my body. So here’s an article about 5 tips to stay strong, to get in shape and to go to my favorite fitness place : Let’s go fit! I do it since 2 years and it really helps me. 🙂
1. Set your goals
Setting goals, no matter how small, helps to stay motivated when it comes to exercise, because you feel strong and proud when you achieve them. It will also give your daily workouts more meaning. The key is to keep it realistic. I always set small goals like “I want to be able to run 1h15 soon.” Step by step, I do better and better. Share your achievements with your friends and family, and set new goals each week.
2. Make it fun
It’s important to stay in shape, but it’s primordial to take pleasure to do it. Find a sport that you enjoy and vary your routine. If you don’t like running or going to the fitness everyday, take dance classes, start volley-ball or natation. Discover your sport talents (they are maybe hidden by your excuses, but they are real!). Share everything with your friends and family : make them want to do it with you!
3. Plan your workouts
It’s really easy to find excuses to skip a workout. Don’t fall back to it : plan your workouts in the morning or after your work and think that your day is not finished until you’ve done your routine. Don’t overthink about it, just do it.
4. Write it on paper
What are your goals? What are the benefits? Write them down. Sometimes it helps to see our goals and the results of our efforts. Write what you did and how long you exercised and how you felt afterward. Write all your feelings : you can help yourself with your own tips by reading them when you have a decreased motivation.
5. Take pictures every week
It’s difficult to see our progress each day in the mirror. What I do is that I take a picture of me each monday to see my results. It helps to stay motivated to do better each week because you can compare you newest picture with the old ones. Take your photos in the same position, same outfit and same mirror.
6. Get inspired by your idols
When you see others working out and taking care of their body, it motivates you to do it for yourself. I follow a lot of sport Instagram profiles and I see thousand “fit pictures” each day. It’s a big motivation for me and I don’t feel alone : I know that my idols are working out and that it’s not easy for them aswell, but funny and healthy? YES!
These are the basics tips that I can give you to start building a sport-motivation. Don’t over-do it, take it easy and follow your rhythm. It will come step by step and I can promise something : it will become an addiction! I am waiting for your news about it! 🙂
